TL;DR; You can use categories/tags in your RSS reader to filter my blog now. I've updated posts retroactively to add it.

I always blog on here for myself. I like writing. Often, I end up not polishing what I write - the act of writing by itself makes me run out of steam. I might also just have been doing something else, and genuinely can't be bothered to write something pretty, like now. However, when I mentioned it off-hand on Lobsters, it turns out some people want to read it still.

With that out of the way, I've dusted off the tags system in Jekyll, and tagged every post so far appropriately, and will be tagging rough posts, as, well, "rough" in the future. They may at some point get polished, or rewritten entirely, and published as a fresh post, with the old URL getting a 301. Or they may just get left without links. You may notice that this post is also tagged as rough, assuming you're using an RSS reader, because you currently can't see the tags in the HTML output. I digress.

On the editing side, in Sveltia (the previous post, if you missed it) I've made it a multi-select enum, essentially, to avoid accidentally using the wrong form of a word, or making typos. As of writing, there are a handful of tags that aren't self-explanatory:

  • meta - posts about making posts, essentially. Blogging setup stuff.
  • personal - posts that, bare minimum, dips its toes into our own selves. Could be an anecdote, experience, or just "I did this because I wanted this".
